MAGISTRATES’ COURT
The court is situated at Fitzalan Place, Cardiff.

The main entrance is situated on Fitzalan Place.
There are no parking facilities for the general public except limited
spaces for people with disabilities adjacent to the court.
Public parking is available in Knox Road, two minutes walk from the court.

INFORMATION FOR DEFENDANTS
Please note that if you intend to instruct a
solicitor and/or you feel you may be eligible for Legal Aid/Representation
Order, it is advisable to do so before your first court appearance.
If you have committed the offence(s) in question a reduced sentence may be
given for an early guilty plea.
Always bring to court any documents relevant to the case.
No alcoholic drinks are permitted on the premises.
No smoking building. No smoking policy in force.
No crèche facilities are available. Whenever possible, children should not
be brought to court. Court staff cannot supervise children or be held
responsible for their safety.
No animals other than guide dogs are allowed onto court premises.
The use of recording equipment, mobile phones and pagers are strictly
forbidden in the courtrooms.

No photographs can be taken inside the court building without the express
permission of the Justices’ Clerk.

If you wish to complain about
the court administration, conduct of staff or the facilities at the court,
a leaflet is available that outlines the complaint procedure. This can be
